Membership

The Mission of the Foundation of La Jolla High School, Inc. is to enhance the overall educational experience of La Jolla High School students by raising, managing and disbursing funds to support academic, athletic, building and grounds, and other needs of the School for which public funding is not available.
Candidates for the Board of Directors of the Foundation of La Jolla High School are expected to be able to significantly contribute to that Mission.
Candidates for the Board of Directors are first considered by the Nominating Committee of the Board. Individuals wishing to make themselves available for service on the Board of Directors should let the Nominating Committee, or one of its Members, know of their interest. You may contact a Member of the Board, the Nominating Committee Chair or the Foundation Office. Be sure to include a cover letter with your name and contact information, together with a copy of your resume (and/or a Prospective Board Member Questionnaire which can be obtained from the Foundation Office). All such information will be automatically forwarded to the Nominating Committee.
Meeting the criteria for membership on the Board of Directors, with the exception of Major Donors, does not assure membership on the Board. Rather, the Nominating Committee will select from the applicants those individuals the Committee feels will be best able to contribute to the Foundation's Mission. Candidates selected by the Committee will be forwarded to the entire Board of Directors for consideration at least one month prior to the meeting to elect new members of the Board. Individual Members of the Board of Directors may not submit names of candidates directly to the Board. All nominations are required to go through the Nominating Committee. Candidates are considered, once a year in the Spring, for Board Membership for the following school year.
Candidates for the Board must meet the Membership Criteria, and be willing to make the Commitments, set forth below.
