STAFF AND STUDENTS:

        

1.      The Varsity Football Team will be playing at home TONIGHT at 6:00PM in the 1st Round of CIF Playoffs facing Palo Verde.   Tickets will be available at the finance office at lunch only   Tickets for students (5-18 years of age) are $6, adults $8 and seniors (over the age of 60) $6.  No discounts are given – CIF rules!  Come out and show your support for your Vikings!  (Mrs. “P”)

 

2.      I know you know already, but just in case you need a reminder…..The school will be closed the entire week of November 23-27 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  May your Thanksgiving be plentiful and peaceful!  See you on Monday, November 30! Be Safe!!! (Mrs. “P”)

3.      The Drama Department presents……The Mouse Trap Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21 all at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $5 w/ASB; $6 w/o.  Adults $8.  Come support the students in drama.   (Mrs. Boutelle)

4.      Congratulations to Ben Gammage, Alison Herman, Tammy Tran, and Erica Eisen who were the undefeated A Team and received first place in the NAQT Caltech Technophobia Tournament.  They have now qualified for the National tournament in Chicago in the Spring.  The La Jolla B team, consisting of Tim Trahan, Taiki Kim, and Ben Cosman and the La Jolla C team consisting of Cameron Bates, Ilana Eisen, and Ian Trahan also did very well.  Great Job!!!  (Mrs. Irwin)

5.      ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVE:   Blood Drive - Sign up at lunch or in room 903 to donate blood on December 4.  Get a shirt and food for sharing blood and saving a life. (Mr. Teachworth)

6.      Attention Sophomores!  We are holding a competition for the best design for our class shirts.  Bring your entries to room 304.  The deadline is Monday, December 7.  The winner will receive a free lunch and a free class shirt.  Good luck and start drawing.  (Mrs. Dill)

 

7.      Argentina here we come!  Are you interested in going to Argentina this summer?  Mr. Tellers is providing students with an opportunity to experience the history, art and culture of Argentina.  If you and your friends are interested in participating in this year’s trip, see Mr. Tellers in room 307 to pick up informational brochures.

8.      Congratulations to La Jolla High's novices for their outstanding performances the last two weekends.  Debaters Sarah Herrman, Nicholas Halpert, Haziq Sadiqqi, and Sahil Sangani all performed wonderfully during their first ever debates at the Novice Debate Tournament at Torrey Pines High.  Nicholas, Haziq, and Sahil then repeated and even built upon their wonderful performances this past weekend at the Novice Individual Event Tournament at Mater Dei Catholic High.  At the Mater Dei tournament, Nicholas took first place in the International Extemp Category and Haziq took 6th place for Humorous Interpretation.  Next up is the Winter Classic at La Costa Canyon, one of our biggest tournaments of the year.  Mr. Boyd
