2. Minutes: The minutes from February 18, 2004, were approved. 3. Agenda Items Ð OLD Business Report back on PTA Math Meeting: Patti Nussbaum shared the report created from PTAÕs meeting with the Math Dept. This includes the background, PTAÕs stand, and the points teachers made in the meeting. Linda Dowley asked that LJ Math Department continue to try to work with Muirlands to improve math abilities. Feedback on College Night: Patti Nussbaum shared the comments she received from College Night. The responses were overwhelmingly positive, and people liked the format. For next year, maybe state how many individuals go to private schools and list where they went. Change the top 100 list to the top 200. Reduce the amount of Princeton Review materials in the back. Status on the Daily Patriotic Activity: Noah Brozinsky reported that ASB is doing the flag raising, but they are currently looking at alternatives. 4. Agenda Items Ð NEW Business Athletics and 6th Period PE/To Solve Schedule Problems: Carole LeCren discussed the imbalance between classes throughout the day. She had some suggestions to discuss including 7th period PE and study hall. Athletes are not allowed to go to tutoring after school: Rachel Tenenbaum reported that some athletes are not released from practice to attend tutoring. Dana Shelburne said academics should come first, so let him know when this is not the case. He will also check with Bob Allen, Athletic Director, to make sure the coaches know this. Melissa Cunningham asked that a letter be sent to reinforce this message. There was a long discussion, the topic was tabled for later. Student Privacy Issues: PTA brought us the concern about students handing out other studentÕs papers. Dana Shelburne will bring this up a faculty meeting. Ability to Hear Emergency Bells: Carole LeCren raised the concern that the science building bells are not audible. Dana Shelburne said the bells are still not working properly, and that they will be looked at. He also reported that we are updating the emergency procedures. Vending machines Ð Too junkie?
