School Stuff

Lockers

Lockers are issued yearly to each student at registration time.  The Foundation of La Jolla High School provides, maintains, repairs, and replaces the lockers.  A nominal yearly donation of $10 to the Foundation enables continued repairs and maintenance.  Without sufficient donations, lockers will not be available.
Parents and students should read the following carefully:

  • Students are responsible for keeping their lockers locked at all times.  Locked or unlocked, La Jolla High School assumes no liability for loss/theft of contents.
  • If a break-in does occur, students have a better chance of recovering lost textbooks if their names are written inside the front cover of the books.  Books lost or stolen are the student's financial responsibility.
  • Locker break-ins are reduced when
    (a) money and personal belongings are not kept in the lockers, and (b) students do not give locker combinations to anyone.
  • Lockers are not waterproof.  Remember that lockers are a convenience.  Students use them at their own risk.  During times of heavy rain, textbooks and/or library books can get wet.  Students are encouraged to take books home before that happens.
  • Ninth graders will be assigned lockers on registration day.  Upper-class students will select a locker.  If the locker is not convenient to class location, changes may be made the third week of school.  By that time we will have updated the rosters and know which lockers will be available.
  • Students must have a Master Combination Lock, sold on registration day at the financial office.  The combination information is kept at school in case a student forgets the combination.  Locks purchased at other schools, including Muirlands, will not be accepted.
Any student who:

  1. doesn't put the lock on his/her locker on registration day, or
  2. doesn't register the locker in his/her name on registration day will not have a locker on the first day of school.
